What To Expect
Prior to your pet’s first chiropractic appointment, they must be evaluated by a veterinarian, who will perform a thorough examination to determine the source of their pain. X-rays will also be taken to help identify the problem, and to rule out other problems that may contribute to their discomfort.
During your pet’s appointment, our veterinary chiropractor will perform a series of adjustments, which are gentle thrusts used to encourage bones to move back to their normal positions. Adjustments are typically performed with the hands, but specialized instruments are sometimes used. In most cases, chiropractic adjustment is painless. Your pet’s comfort is our number one priority, and techniques can be modified for animals who are severely painful.
The number of sessions required will depend on your pet’s condition. While some pets experience immediate improvement in their pain level and mobility, others take more time, and require more frequent visits. Pets with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, typically require long-term therapy to manage their inflammation and pain.
